Sudden, Severe, Sustained:

Addressing the challenges of nuclear plant closure

The Institute for Nuclear Host Communities is a unique planning and community development firm that addresses a unique planning and community development problem: the local and regional socioeconomic impacts of nuclear power plant closure. Nuclear power plant closure presents challenges that go far beyond existing best practices for facility closures, and the INHC is the nation’s only organization dedicated to resolving them.

  • Our mission is simple: to provide the communities that host nuclear power plants with the knowledge and tools they need to shape their post-nuclear futures.
  • Our position is clear: we are an independent firm that does not advocate for or against nuclear power.
